It’s that time again! Time to register your child or children for one of the most popular summer camps in Johnston County!

This year we’re offering another eight weeks of art, swimming, sports and outdoor fun from 8:30am until 4:30pm each day.

Have you ever thought about taking a pottery class, but didn’t know how or where to start?

Begin your 2013 learning the art of handbuilding and/or wheel throwing.

Class #1 – Pottery Beginning Handbuilding Class

This class is designed for students interested in creating pottery without using the wheel. Through a combination of demonstrations and individual work time, students will develop their hand building skills lawmaking distinctive pieces such as plates bosses and bowls. The variety of construction techniques include stiff slab, soft slab, and coils. During the six-week class session, students may come in during open studio times to work freely on projects an instructor will be available to answer questions.

Dates: Tuesday Days: January 22, 29, and February 5, 12, 19 & 26

Time: 10am – 12:30pm

Note: Students in both classes will be required to buy a 25lb bag of clay. Clay is available for purchase through SRAC.

Class #2 – Pottery Beginning Wheel-Throwing Class

This class is designed for students interested in learning how to use the pottery wheel. Through a combination of demonstrations and individual work time, students will develop their wheel throwing skills while making distinctive pieces such as mugs, vases and bowls. During the six-week class session, students may come in during open studio times to work freely on projects. An instructor will be available to answer questions.

Dates: Monday Nights: January 21, 28, and February 4, 11, 18 & 25

Time: 6pm – 8:30pm

Dates: Thursday Days: January 24, 31, and February 7, 14, 21 & 28

10:00am – 12:30pm

Doodlebugs Art Class

( Ages 18 months-3 years old)
This 45 min. Class introduces your child to all mediums of art! Dribble, drip squish and squeeze, your way to fun while experimenting with dough, paper, watercolors, glue, and much, much more! Watch your young artist blossom!
One child per adult please.

Pre-registration is required.
